How to connect Faire to AI

Wholesale and direct-to-consumer teams need a clear view of how products, prices, and orders fit together. Connect available Faire information alongside the company data already used for other channels, so teams and AI can work with more context. One brand generates an access token in the Brand Portal; a partner that connects many brands uses OAuth, and the brand approves scopes for products, orders, and inventory.

On your own

The token, the scopes, and what Faire keeps

The access you need

A single brand creates an access token in the Brand Portal. A partner app sends OAuth headers and the brand approves scopes: products, orders, brand, retailer, inventories, shipments, and reviews. Prices sit under products. Shipments sit under orders. There is no separate price scope.

The approval

The brand approves those scopes. The External API reference does not publish a second review timeline for that grant, and it does not include an MCP server. An AI reaches Faire through the API.

What the AI can read

The brand profile, products and variants, wholesale and retail prices, on-hand, committed, and available inventory, orders, packing slips, and reviews. Faire calculates the payout. The brand does not write that payout object.

What the AI can write

Products, variants, prepacks, images, tags, on-hand and available inventory, and wholesale and retail prices. On an order the brand can accept, backorder, ship, or cancel. Creating an object uses an idempotence token.

Shopify and Amazon

Faire does not publish a switch that copies stock or price to Shopify or Amazon. Each platform keeps its own price and quantity. Keeping the channels aligned requires a workflow that respects the source and update rules for each platform. See the inventory guide for more on how quantities differ.

With Unison

Keep wholesale context beside the other sales channels

See wholesale and retail together

Review Faire wholesale pricing alongside the retail prices used by Shopify and other connected channels.

Carry the order context forward

Orders, products, variants, and inventory can be understood beside the other channels rather than in an isolated wholesale view.

Keep price decisions with your team

Use shared product and order context when considering a price change. Your team decides how supported changes are reviewed and handled for each channel.

How does a brand or partner authorize access to Faire?

Can an AI app update Faire products, prices, and inventory?

Yes. The API can write products, variants, images, wholesale and retail prices, and on-hand and available inventory. Faire calculates the payout. The brand does not write that payout.

No official Faire MCP server is documented for this connection. The Faire External API is the documented connection for catalog, price, and order data.
